Why we could suggest something about food and cooking and why you should too

Last evening, at dinner time, we were talking to good friend of us, Guglielmo, while together we were visiting another friend with a newborn baby and, of course, an empty fridge. All of the sudden Guglielmo suggested us what he heard by a poor man that proudly told him once that when he has nothing but rice, a lemon and some rosemary to rob ๐Ÿ˜ฑ, he could still make a great dinner.

Inspired by the description we rolled up our sleeves and cooked an extraordinary risotto with lemon and rosemary for our friends. Easy and super tasty. You know what? We had one of the best dinner ever and everyone was amazed, including the new dad…not a big deal though, no one cooks for him anymore ๐Ÿ˜…

Since each person has a story to tell, the dinner was a success because of that suggestion heard by chance. Everyone has something to teach, our aim is to collect all our experiences, all the recipes, all our feelings, all the great and bring it to you like a good, actually two good friends. We love food, we love stories, life, and share joy. Are we professionals? Not at all. Have we something to teach? Hell yeah. Because of our passion. And so do you. Feel free to share, comment, suggest. You’re all welcome!

By the way…. The poor man’s ROSEMARY & LEMON RISOTTOย recipe (featuring Guglielmo)

What you need for about 4 persons:

2 cups of rice (half cup per person),

one onion,

the grated rind of a lemon,

chopped fresh rosemary,

1-2 tablespoons of butter,

5-6 tablespoons of parmesan,

1 tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil,

1 glass of white wine (the more its quality, the better. You can drink the rest ๐Ÿ˜),

vegetable broth or (only if you don’t have time to make it by yourself) broth made with a vegetable bouillon cube.

That’s it!

Chop the onion and fry it in a large pan with a tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil, add the rice and, after one minute, a glass of white wine. Allow to evaporate, then, add some chopped rosemary, grated lemon rind and enough hot vegetable broth to cover the rice. When half-cooked add again some lemon and rosemary and carry to cooking. When ready and the broth has retired remove the rice from the fire, add the butter, the parmesan, the remaining lemon and rosemary, toss it and serve.

What a perfume! What a great dish! Simple and easy.

Try it for a summer’s end dinner. You will remenber its smell for a long time.

We can learn from everyone,

everywhere,

anytime.

In unexpected ways.

And make it ours…..
